Dialogues III for horn and tuba, was composed in 1987, funded by a grant from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School. It is one of a series of duets for tuba and other brass instruments. This five-movement work, premiered by the composer (Stevens) and UW-Madison professor of horn Douglas Hill, is a technically demanding work for both instruments in a variety of musical styles.
